The degree bracket gap challenge

In past years, it was recorded that 36.7M fans filled out March Madness brackets, but only a fraction of them was for the women’s tournament. Motivated by this disconcerting stat, we leveraged the nationwide obsession with March Madness brackets to create the largest women’s bracket pool ever–with the Degree Bracket Gap Challenge.

We partnered with 2x WNBA Champion and 2x NCAA Champion, Candace Parker, a well-known voice in sports equity, to raise awareness of the issue and encourage fans to fill out their women’s brackets.

To date, the campaign generated 8,000 bracket completions and over 2B earned impressions–with ESPN reporting 4.85M viewers tuned into this year’s March Madness championship, making it the most-watched women’s title game since 2004.
